Dale Earnhardt, Sr. ran his first stock-car race on May 25, 1975 in the World 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, finishing 22nd...Earned his first win on April 1, 1979 in Bristol, Tenn., and went on to win Rookie of the Year honors with 17 top-10 finishes and a seventh-plae showing in the points standings...Won his first Winston Cup Championship in 1980, winning five races and becoming the first driver in history to win the Rookie of the Year award and Winston Cup in back-to-back seasons...Earned nine more wins from 1981-1985, including four in 1985...In 1986, Earnhardt won five races to take his second Winston Cup Championship and top $1 million in earnings for the first time in his career...Followed with a career-high 11 victories in 1987, including a four-race win streak, to win his second straight Winston Cup...Won eight races and over $2.6 million in the 1988-89 seasons...Nine wins and 23 top-10 finishes gave Earnhardt his fourth Winston Cup Championship and a then-record earnings total of over $3 million in 1990...Won back-to-back Winston Cup titles for the second time in 1991, winning four races along the way...Won only one race in 1992 and finished with less than $1 milion in earnings for the first time since 1985...Got back on track in 1993, taking six races and his sixth Winston Cup Championship and earning a career-high $3,353,789...In 1994 Earnhardt tied Richard Petty for most career Winston Cup Championships with his seventh title, finishing in the top 10 a career-high 25 times...Finished second in the points standings in 1995 but won five races and topped $3 million in earnings for the fouth time in six years...Became the first driver to reach $30 million in American Motor Sport winnings in 1997, and also became the first race car driver to appear on a Wheaties box...Won the Daytona 500 for the first time in his career in 1998, breaking a string of 19 starts in the Daytona 500 without a victory and a 59-race overall winless streak...Took his 10th consecutive win in a Twin 125 qualifying race at Daytona in 1999, a seson inwhich he also won three other races...Won the final race of his career on Oct. 15, 2000 in the Winston 500 at Talladega Superspeedway...Earnhardt finished in the top 10 in the Winston Cup points standings in 20 of his 22 full seasons in NASCAR...He won a record nine races at Talladega, and has 34 victories in all forms of racing at Daytona...In addition to the Winston Cup Champinships, Earnhardt also won the IROC Championship in 1990, 1995 and 1999...Set a modern-era Winston Cup record by finishing 53 consecutive races during the 1997 and 1998 seasons...In his 676 career starts, Earnhardt failed to finish a race only 95 times.
