Kasper could appear more for Broncos at WR

Oct. 6
Ed McCaffrey is gone to a broken leg, and Eddie Kennison pulled a Casper against the Ravens when he was invisible at gut-check time for the Broncos. That could open the door for rookie wideout Kevin Kasper, the AFC's leading kick returner with a chance to become Brian Griese's go-to guy when defenses clamp down on ace receiver Rod Smith.

Kasper is currently listed as the Broncos' third receiver behind Smith and Kennison, who has made a skeptic of the coaching staff for his knack to disappear when they need him most.

Kasper has drawn comparisons to another to another ex-Iowa Hawkeye -- Tim Dwight. Like Dwight, Kasper is a physical fitness and nutrition freak. Even though Kasper wowed NFL teams at the scouting combine with a 44-inch vertical jump and a 4.4 clocking in the 40, the Broncos snatched him as a bargain sixth-rounder.
