LOUDON, N.H. -- Tim Fedewa outlasted a course-record nine cautions to win the Busch 200 at the New Hampshire International Speedway on Saturday, a day after a crash in practice killed driver Adam Petty.

Dick Trickle crashed and burst into flames in lap 194, bringing the field to a stop for 11 minutes, 38 seconds while the track was cleared. Three laps were run under the yellow caution flag before Fedewa took the lead on the restart.

Fedewa went low to pass Casey Atwood and Steve Park, then led the rest of the way.

"I had my eyes closed half the time," he said after claiming the winner's prize of $42,060 and his fourth Busch series victory. "I was just trying to get to the bottom of the racetrack."

Fedewa took the checkered flag and yellow flags together, then dodged debris left by a crash between Michael Ritch and Jay Sauter in Turn 1. Jeff Green finished second, and Jason Keller third.

Petty, the great-grandson of NASCAR patriarch Lee Petty, grandson of career victories leader Richard Petty and son of another driver, Kyle, died of head injuries after crashing during practice on Friday.

"The biggest thing I want to do is send my condolences to the Petty family," Jason Jarrett said after crashing in lap 127. "It was hard to focus today."

Fedewa led from lap 16-129 before Buckshot Jones took the lead. But Jones ran out of gas in lap 191 and finished 19th.

"We rolled the dice and just came up a little bit short," he said. "Once the decision was made, there was no going back."
