Shock's Nolan day-to-day after back injury

Associated Press

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Deanna Nolan of the Detroit Shock was listed as day-to-day for the WNBA Finals, one day after injuring her back in the team's Eastern Conference title-winning victory.

Nolan was "feeling better'' after receiving treatment for a bruised sacrum, a triangular bone situated near the lower end of the spinal column, the Shock said Monday.

Nolan was taken off the court on a stretcher after she fell on her back in Detroit's 79-73 win over the Sun. Nolan went up high to block a layup attempt by Nykesha Sales and flipped over Sales' shoulder.

Nolan scored 17 points as Detroit advanced to the finals against the winner of the Western Conference series between Los Angeles and Sacramento.

The first game of the best-of-three finals is Friday.
