JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- All four WNBA expansion franchises have now announced their respective nicknames.

On Friday, the Seattle team announced that it will be known as the Storm, and the Miami franchise will be called the Sol, which is the Spanish word for sun.

Also on Friday, Portland team officials said they had chosen the name Portland Fire.

"Fire is what I look for in a player and it's what all the fans will see in this team," head coach and general manager Linda Hargrove said.

Indiana announced Dec. 17 that its team will be known as the Fever.

Seattle will make it official on Jan. 19 during a ceremony at KeyArena for more than 7,000 season-ticket holders. The logo will be revealed and the fans will have the chance to talk with coach Lin Dunn and some of the Storm's players.

Miami's nickname and logo officially will be announced Friday night at American Airlines Arena. The Olympic team will participate in the ceremony and conduct an open practice.

The Sol will be led by former Miami Heat coach Ron Rothstein.

Portland's logo will be unveiled Jan. 13 at the Rose Garden for the team's approximately 6,500 season ticket holders, sponsors and special guests. A public unveiling will take place later.
