The announcement was made Friday by Kelly Krauskopf, the team's chief operating officer.

The team's logo will use the traditional Pacer Blue and Pacer Yellow, along with an accent of red as the team's third color.

"We worked with the league office to develop a name that captures that passion and appeals to all ages of our fan base," Krauskopf said. "We hope that everyone catches WNBA fever this summer as we begin our inaugural season."

The Fever will join the WNBA this summer along with teams in Miami, Portland and Seattle.
