FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- Chris Brown scored three goals as the New
England Revolution snapped a nine-match winless streak on Saturday
with a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Fire.
Brown had just two goals in 18 matches with Kansas City before
being traded to New England on Aug. 20. He scored in the 7th, 63rd
and 66th minutes on Saturday.
The Revolution (6-8-8) was 0-5-4 in their previous nine matches
since beating Colorado on June 28.
Andy Williams scored his second goal of the season in the 14th
minute to tie it for Chicago. The Fire (11-5-6) had a seven-match
unbeaten streak snapped.
Brian Kamler scored his sixth goal of the season on a 22-yard
shot in the 44th minute to give New England a 2-1 lead.
Kamler made a great run down the left wing to set up Brown's
second goal in the 63rd minute.
Brown completed his hat trick with a left-footed shot from 12
yards out with an assist from rookie Pat Noonan.
Jay Heaps closed out the Revolution's scoring in the 88th
minute, heading in an indirect kick.
