2002 recap
The good: Bodine proved he's still got the talent to compete on the Winston Cup circuit, notching a pole early in the year as his team fought through financial difficulties. Bodine went on to post four top-10 finishes.

Season highlight: Although his season-best finish of fifth was great, his pole-winning run at Las Vegas as his team was struggling to scrape together funds to continue the season was a huge morale boost.

The bad: The No. 26 team already had trouble finding funding to field the car for a full schedule, but then Bodine had to miss yet another race -- the season finale -- because of health problems. A back injury ended his season early, so Bodine could not compete at Homestead, Fla. He had surgery on his lower back earlier this month and has been cleared to race for this upcoming season, though, so there is some good news in the bad.

Season lowlight: The worst was when several drivers started pointing fingers at him as a frequent catalyst for accidents.

2003 outlook
What needs to be done: The first thing that needs to be done is Bodine needs to secure a ride. Nothing has been announced, yet, but Bodine said he's got a plan in the works to run at least a part-time schedule. He will likely run a full-time Busch schedule, too.

Prediction: Bodine is a solid Busch Series talent and will continue to thrive in that Series. He will certainly make a few runs in Cup, as well, which will give him the opportunity to silence the critics who say he's a liability on the track.
