Last race: Sterling Marlin went from worst to first to win the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington. Marlin overcame a pre-race engine problem to become the first driver this season to win two races.

Last year: Elliott Sadler earned his first career victory at the Food City 500 where Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon made contact on the final lap, sending Stewart spinning. Stewart raced around the track on the cooldown lap and hit Gordon's car on pit road. NASCAR fined Stewart $10,000 and placed him on probation until Aug. 29.

Fast Facts: Steve Park returned to racing last week following a six-month injury absence and finished 39th despite colliding with Stacy Compton 37 laps into the race. ... Stewart was hospitalized overnight after injuring his lower back during an 11-car pileup in last week's race. He will race at Bristol. ... Rusty Wallace has nine wins at Bristol, but none in his last 31 races overall. ... Dale Jarrett has finished just three of the five races this season. ... Darrell Waltrip leads all drivers with 12 wins at Bristol. ... Gordon has won four of the last seven spring races at Bristol. He has not finished better than seventh in any of the five races this season. ... Park set the track record for fastest qualifying speed at 126.370 mph in 2000.

IRL

Last race: Helio Castroneves led a one-two Team Penske sweep of the Bombardier ATV Copper World Indy 200, winning by 2.1421 seconds over teammate Gil de Ferran. Castroneves earned his second career IRL win and first since the 2001 Indianapolis 500.

Fast facts: This race will mark the IRL's West Coast debut. ... This race will be the first IRL event to take place on a two-mile track. It also marks the first 400-mile event to take place in the league's seven-year history. ... Castroneves has earned two victories in just four starts, a league record. Arie Luyendyk earned his second victory in his eighth start. ... Last week, Sam Hornish Jr. became the fourth IRL driver to surpass 1,000 laps led. He is third on the list with 1,036, trailing only Tony Stewart (1,515) and Greg Ray (1,149). ... Marlboro Team Penske will make its first appearance at California Speedway as full-time competitors in the IRL. The team competed at the track from 1997-2001 in the CART series.

Last race: Jeff Burton became the second Busch driver to lead every lap and first to accomplish the feat at Darlington Raceway at last week's Darlingtonraceway.com 200. He has won from the pole twice this season, including the previous race at Las Vegas

Last year: Matt Kenseth won the crash-filled Cheez-It 250 in Bristol, Tenn. Kenseth led the final 48 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway and easily beat Tim Fedewa to the finish line for his 12th career Busch victory.

Fast facts: This is the 20th running of the race. ... Jeff Green finished third in last week's race and has improved his standing in each of the last three races. After finishing 24th at Rockingham, Green rebounded to place 11th and fifth in the next two races. ... Bristol has played host to the Busch series since the inception of the circuit in 1982, but no spring race was held in 1984. ... Morgan Shepherd leads with four wins at Bristol. ... Six drivers have won from the pole at the track. ... Steve Grissom won from the 28th starting position in 1995, the furthest back of any Bristol Busch winner.

CART
Last race: Cristiano Da Matta ran a nearly flawless race to successfully defend his Monterrey Grand Prix title on March 10. The Brazilian now has three straight CART victories.

Craftsman Truck
Last race: Ted Musgrave passed Robert Pressley with 12 laps to go, then held him off to win the Craftsman Anniversary 200 at Darlington Raceway.

Next race: Advance Auto Parts 250, April 13, Martinsville, Va.

Formula One
Last race: Ralf Schumacher broke his brother Michael's Malaysian Grand Prix winning streak, leading a 1-2 finish for Williams-BMW that challenged Ferrari's grip on Formula One.

Next race: Brazilian Grand Prix, March 31, Sao Paulo.

NHRA
Last event: Larry Dixon grabbed an NHRA national event victory for the second time this season by defeating Top Fuel rival Kenny Bernstein at Gainesville Raceway. Tony Pedregon, Darrell Alderman and Craig Treble won their respective categories.
