2002 recap
The good: Tomas Scheckter led 122 laps for initial Indy-car triumph at Michigan. He charged from 18th to fourth at Richmond, Va., and also finished sixth in his IRL debut at Homestead, Fla. Scheckter also won poles at Texas, Kansas City and Michigan.
Season highlight: The young gun went from first to last after a flat tire and then stormed back to edge teammate Buddy Rice for long overdue win at Michigan.
The bad: Scheckter crashed out of six races -- including the Indianapolis 500, which he was leading with less than 30 laps to go.
Season lowlight: He put boss and teammate Eddie Cheever into the wall at Homestead on the second lap of the season.

2003 outlook
The 22-year-old son of former Formula One champion Jody is fast and reckless, but one of the most exciting talents to emerge in recent history. His marriage to Cheever was a disaster from the start, but he's signed on with Chip Ganassi for his second time around the IRL circuit.
