Mississippi has a commitment from Top 150 receiver Tony Burks of Gulfport-Harrison Central, Miss., over LSU, Mississippi State and Southern Mississippi.
Michigan State gained receiver/defensive back SirDarean Adams of Bradenton-Bayshore, Fla., over Miami-Florida, Georgia, Nebraska and Ohio State.
Running back Curtis Brinkley of Philadelphia-West Catholic, Pa., chose Syracuse over Virginia Tech, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota.
Kentucky has pledged defensive back Trevard Lindley of Hiram, Ga., over North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Southern Mississippi, Cincinnati, Louisville and Marshall; and quarterback/athlete Ben McGrath of Cincinnati-Moeller, Ohio.
Defensive back James Francis of LaMarque, Tex., is headed to Baylor over Colorado State.
Missouri pledged defensive lineman Chris Wade of Broken Arrow, Okla., over Kansas State and Colorado.
Louisville has pledged offensive lineman Josh Waller of Louisville-Southern, Kty., over Kentucky.
BYU has pledged receivers Joe Griffin of Grossmont CC, Cal; and Travis Brown of Phoenix-Maryvale, Ariz/Oregon State/Dixie State CC, Utah. The Cougars recently signed junior college receivers Todd Watkins, one of the nation's best from LaMesa-Helix, Cal/Grossmont CC, Cal; and Riley Weber of Glendale CC, Ariz. BYU also gained a verbal from defensive back Greg Lovely of San Jose-Gunderson, Cal/Foothill CC, Cal. *LSU leads the 2004 Top Recruiting Classes.
