The Florida Gators have a commitment from defensive lineman Brandon Daniel of Pompano Beach-Ely, Fla., over North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Ingle Martin of Nashville-Montgomery Bell, Tenn., who recently announced he will transfer from Florida, has decided on Furman. Martin started the first four games for the Gators this season before being replaced by touted freshman Chris Leak.
Tennessee has pledged linebacker/defensive lineman Antonio Reynolds of Akron-Buchtel, Ohio/Hargrave MA, Va., over Virginia Tech and Clemson. He originally signed with Miami-Florida as a prep. The Vols also gained a commitment from Class 2005 junior running back LaMarcus Coker of Antioch, Tenn.
Illinois gained quarterback Billy Garza of Brownsville-Porter, Tex.
Oregon pledged offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz of Pacific Palisades-Palisades, Cal., over Arizona, UCLA and Stanford; and defensive back Sharrod Davis of Spring Valley-Monte Vista, Cal., over California, Arizona, BYU and Colorado State.
Linebacker/defensive lineman Chenry Lewis of Paterson-Paterson Catholic, NY., committed to Rutgers over an offer from Iowa and interest from Miami-Florida.
Quarterback Brian Brunner of Hartford, Wis., decommitted from Central Michigan.
San Diego State has a commitment from linebacker Russell Allen of Vista, Cal., who was named San Diego County Defensive Player of the Year. He also considered Arizona, Colorado State and Wyoming. Utah has pledged tight end Desmond Hanohano of Honolulu-St. Louis, Hawaii. The Utes recently gained running back Raynold Stowers of Honolulu-Iolani, Hawaii; and receiver Gerold Rodriguez of Venice, Cal.
Tight end/defensive lineman Kory Sperry of Pueblo-Pueblo County, Colo., picked Colorado State over Colorado and Wyoming. *LSU leads the 2004 Top Recruiting Classes.
