Defensive lineman Marques Walton of Chicago-Hubbard, Ill., has chosen the Michigan Wolverines over Purdue. Among others were Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern and Oregon. The Wolverines recently gained Top 150 offensive lineman Brett Gallimore of Kansas City-Park Hill South, Mo., over more than 30 other offers, including Florida State, Ohio State, Nebraska, Purdue and Iowa. See ESPN Chat. Colorado pledged defensive lineman David Veikune of Honolulu-Campbell, Hawaii; and offensive lineman Tavita Thompson of Honolulu-St. Louis, Hawaii. North Carolina added offensive/defensive lineman Wyatt Hicks of Highland Springs, Va., over Clemson, Georgia Tech, Duke and Ohio.
Ohio pledged quarterback Mark Petruziello of Mentor-Lake Catholic, Ohio.
Hawaii has commitments from quarterback Taylor Humphrey of Orinda-Miramonte, Cal; plus defensive lineman Daniel Paieulu and offensive lineman Dustin Pilialoha, both from Honolulu-Word of Life Academy, Hawaii.
BYU has pledged defensive back Greg Lovely of San Jose-Gunderson, Cal/Foothill CC, Cal.
Air Force pledged offensive lineman Matt Slauson of Colorado Springs-Air Academy, Colo., over Oregon. *LSU leads the 2004 Top Recruiting Classes.
