It's hard to keep those Tigers down, as LSU leads the 2004 Top Recruiting Classes.
Other top programs making an early charge are Texas, Southern California, Miami-Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia and Maryland.

Receiver Josh Morgan of Washington, DC-Woodson/Fork Union MA, Va., committed to Iowa over Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and UConn.
Minnesota signed quarterback Adam Ernst of Anaheim-Servite, Cal/California/Mt. San Antonio CC, Cal; and received commitments from both running back Gary Russell of Columbus-Walnut Ridge, Ohio; and linebacker Deon Hightower of Arlington-Mansfield Summit, Tex. The Gophers recently added linebacker Johnny Sampy of Galena Park, Tex; and defensive lineman William Brody of Cleveland-Benedictine, Ohio.
Purdue has defensive lineman/tight end Rob Ninkovich of New Lenox, Ill/Joliet CC, Ill. The Boilermakers recently gained offensive lineman Sean Sester of Ft. Thomas-Highlands, Kty., over Kentucky, Louisville, Miami-Ohio, Michigan State, South Carolina and Indiana; receivers Fabian Martin of Chicago-Prosser, Ill., who decommitted from Illinois; and Bruce Gordon of Naples, Fla/Dodge City CC, Kan.
Wisconsin pledged defensive back Allen Langford of Detroit-Cass Tech, Mich., who decommitted from Indiana. The Badgers recently gained receiver Emmanuel Spann of Atlanta-Westlake, Ga., over interest from Clemson, Duke, Louisville and Marshall.
Northwestern has pledged offensive lineman Alex Rucks of Lincolnshire-Stevenson, Ill.
Indiana has pledged defensive backs Chris Phillips of of Atlanta-Washington, Ga; and Leslie Majors of Harvey-Thornwood, Ill. The Hoosiers recently gained defensive lineman/linebacker Ryan Marando of Lakewood-St. Edward, Ohio.

Colorado pledged receiver Reggie Joseph of Reserve-East St. John, La., over Indiana, Southern Mississippi, Tulane and Louisiana Tech.
Baylor pledged linebacker Ben Hixon of Southlake-Carroll, Tex; and defensive lineman Dan Gay of Lafayette-St. Thomas More, La. The Bears recently gained linebacker/running back Marcus Mead of Alva, Okla. Receiver Curtis Shaw of Beaumont-Ozen, Tex., decommitted from Baylor for Houston.
