Highly-touted tight end Brad Allen of Venice, Fla., has committed to Vanderbilt over Florida, North Carolina, Purdue, Wake Forest, Clemson and Virginia, among many others. Offensive lineman Michael Brown of Atlanta-Westlake, Ga., has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over offers from LSU, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan and Virginia. Auburn gained a pledge from quarterback Blake Field of Cairo, Ga/Tallahassee-North Florida Christian, Fla., over East Carolina. The Clemson Tigers have a commitment from defensive lineman Elsmore Gabriel of Middle Village-Christ The King, NY. Mississippi picked up a commitment from athlete Pierre Banks of Durham-Southern, NC., over Mississippi State, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Clemson. Arkansas pledged offensive lineman Skye Peterson of Omaha-Millard West, Neb/Milford Academy, Conn/Kansas/Delta CC, Miss. He redshirted at Kansas as a true freshman. Northern Illinois added quarterback Britt Davis of Riverside-Brookfield, Ill., over Indiana, Ball State, Bowling Green and Toledo.
