Class 2004 Top 100 guard Channing Toney of Snellville-Brookwood, Ga., has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina State and Gonzaga. The son of former NBA player Andrew Toney, he averaged 23 points as a junior.
Class 2003 guard Wesley Washington of Santa Ana-Mater Dei, Cal., who returned home after his admission status was not finalized at Minnesota, is now favoring Washington if a scholarship opens up. He had originally committed to California, but the Bears withdrew an offer due to academic concerns.
Class 2004 Top 100 forward Shaun Pruitt of Aurora-West Aurora, Ill., is near a decision between Illinois and Michigan State.
Old Dominion pledged Class 2004 forward Jason Thompson of Bear Creek-Chatham Central, NC.
Western Michigan has a commitment from Class 2004 forward Dan Hess of Corunna, Mich.
Class 2004 forward/guard Everett Spencer of Columbus-Brookhaven, Ohio, has committed to Wright State.
New Mexico State pledged Class 2004 forward Delbert Simpson of Tyler-John Tyler, Tex.
Class 2004 forward Calvin Chitwood of Phoenix-Paradise Valley, Ariz., once linked to Cal State-Northridge, is still considering his options after an apparent misunderstanding with the school.
Texas-Arlington pledged Class 2004 forward Miles Guidry of Alief-Elsik, Tex.
