The Pittsburgh Panthers pledged Class 2004 receiver John Peyton of Dade City-Pasco, Fla., over LSU, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Auburn.
Alabama has a commitment from Class 2004 receiver/defensive back Aaron McDaniel of Fort Payne, Alabama.
Purdue has pledged Class 2004 linebacker/running back Jimmy Ladd of Greenwood-Center Grove, Ind., over offers from Indiana, Ball State and Miami-Ohio. He also drew interest from Notre Dame.
Minnesota has a commitment from Class 2004 quarterback Tony Mortensen of Hutchinson, Minn., over interest from Nebraska and Wisconsin. The Gophers recently gained running back Dominique Barber of Plymouth-Wayzata, Minn.
Colorado has a commitment from Class 2004 running back Bryron Ellis of Venice, Cal., over an offer from Wyoming.
Class 2004 receiver L.A. Reed of Conroe-Oak Ridge, Tex., committed to Texas Tech over Baylor. He also received interest from Texas A&M, Kansas, TCU and Missouri.
