The Cincinnati Bearcats have a pledge from Class 2004 Top 100 guard Vincent Banks of Atlanta-South Atlanta, Ga/Laurinburg Institute, NC. Banks, who had committed to Miami-Florida last season, averaged 31.4 points as a senior and was named Mr. Basketball in Georgia.
Top 100 Class 2004 guard Jamar Butler of Lima-Shawnee, Ohio, has decommitted from Cincinnati and is considering Ohio State and Clemson. Butler, who chose the Bearcats as a sophomore, averaged 30.1 points as a junior.
Texas pledged Class 2005 guard A.J. Abrams (5-9) of Austin-McNeil, Tex., over Baylor, Ohio State and Texas A&M. He averaged 16 points and eight assists as a sophomore.
Wichita State has a pledge from Class 2004 guard Matt Braeuer of Belton, Tex., over Southwest Texas State. He also had interest from Southern Methodist, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Utah State and Pacific.
Tulane pledged Class 2004 forward David Gomez of Baton Rouge-Episcopal, La., who averaged 25.2 points as a junior.
Forty-six prospects on the early Class 2004 Top 100 have already made commitments.
