Penn State has pledged one of the nation's top Class 2004 linebackers in Dan Connor of Wallingford-Strath Haven, Pa., over 40 other offers topped by Notre Dame and Michigan. The Nittany Lions recently pledged defensive lineman/tight end Josh Gaines of Fort Wayne-Northrop, Ind., over offers from Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue and Michigan State.

Top 150 quarterback Chad Henne, a Class 2004 prospect from West Lawn-Wilson, Pa., is expected to decide on Thursday (Aug. 7) between Penn State, Michigan and Miami-Florida.

Oklahoma has pledged Class 2004 defensive lineman Alan Davis of Colleyville-Heritage, Tex., over Nebraska and LSU, among others.

The Oregon State Beavers pledged Class 2004 quarterback Michael Perri of Covina-Charter Oak, Cal., over offers from Arizona and UNLV. The Beavers recently gained receiver Zach Tarver of Portland-Jesuit, Ore. Oregon State also signed Class 2003 defensive back/running back Eric Anderson of Phoenix-Camelback, Ariz., for this fall.
