The Texas Longhorns have added two Class 2004 prospects, including linebacker Rashad Bobino of LaMarque, Tex., and defensive lineman/linebacker Brian Orakpo of Houston-Lamar, Tex. The Horns now have 14 commitments. UCLA has Class 2004 pledges from defensive backs Rodney Van of Long Beach-Poly, Cal., and Bryan Payton of West Covina-South Hills, Cal.
The USC Trojans have pledged Class 2004 Top 150 offensive lineman Chilo Rachal of Compton-Dominguez, Cal., over offers from Washington, Oregon State, UNLV, Fresno State, San Diego State and Colorado State.
Kansas State has signed the last remaining Class 2003 Top 150 prospect in running back Cornell Johnson of Las Vegas-Desert Pines, Nev. The Wildcats also added receiver Joe Lawson of Santa Rosa CC, Cal., who had 131 receptions during the last two seasons.
Class 2003 defensive back Jamal Harris of Delray Beach-Atlantic, Fla., has signed with Minnesota for this fall.
Class 2004 linebacker Paul Szczesny of Niles-Notre Dame, Ill/Pima CC, Ariz., has committed to the Indiana Hoosiers over offers from USC, Nebraska, Washington, UCLA, California, Oregon, Kansas State, Arizona and Arizona State.
South Carolina has a soft pledge from Class 2004 offensive lineman Jeremy Burgess of Loris, SC., over Clemson.
Syracuse has a commitment from Class 2004 running back Kareem Jones of Troy-Lansingburg, NY., over interest from Boston College, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Iowa.
