Ewing headed to the Hoosier State

Patrick Ewing Jr., a Class 2003 forward from Marietta, Ga/Fort Washington-National Christian Academy, Md., has signed with the Indiana Hoosiers. Ewing, who was an earlier commitment, is the son of former NBA standout Patrick Ewing. He averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds as a senior.

Sophomore forward Dennis Latimore of Halstead, Kan., will transfer from Arizona to Notre Dame. He also considered Iowa State, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Wichita State.

Class 2003 guard Marcus Neal of Annapolis, Md/Polk CC, Fla., has signed with Nebraska.

Tulsa signed Class 2003 center Oswaldo Gonzalez of Caracas, Venezuela/Jacksonville College, Fla. The Golden Hurricane recently added forward Guilherme Teichmann of Santa Cruz, Brazil/South Plains CC, Tex.

Dion Sherrell, a Class 2003 guard from Detroit-Ford, Mich/Wichita State/Schoolcraft CC, Mich., signed with Wyoming.

Class 2003 forward Matt Benson of Siskiyous CC, Cal., signed with Cal-Riverside.

Robert Morris has signed Class 2003 forward/guard Jeff Trotter of College Creek-Creekside, Ga.

Class 2003 forward Aaron Watson of Largo, Md/Ventura CC, Cal., signed with San Jose State.

New Mexico State signed Class 2003 forward Andre Scott of Hyattsville, Md/Schoolcraft CC, Mich.

Class 2003 forward Tim Gainey of Cochise CC, Ariz., signed with Southern Utah.

Portland State has signed Class 2003 center Nguye (Bob) Kaladokubo of Nigeria/Midland CC, Tex.

Bradley has signed Class 2003 guard Daniel Ruffin of Peoria, Ill.

Stephen F. Austin has signed Class 2003 guards Leonard Brown of Jacksonville College, Tex; and Tim Simon of Navarro CC, Tex.

Hofstra gained Class 2003 guard Antoine Agudio of Melville-Whitman, NY.

Class 2003 forward Blake Schilb of Rantoul, Ill/Wolfeboro-Brewster Academy, NH., signed with Loyola-Chicago.

Lorenzo Miles, a Class 2003 guard from Washington, DC-Gonzaga College High, signed with Niagara.

Austin Peay has signed Class 2003 guards William Durden of Three Rivers CC, Mo; and Fernandez Locket of Madison-Jones, Ala.

A.J. Graves, a Class 2004 guard from Switz City-White River Valley, Ind., has pledged to Butler. He averaged 22.3 points as a junior.

Over 930 Class 2003 prospects have made commitments or signed scholarship papers. Signings and commitments by conferences. The early period ran Nov. 13-20 and the late period is Apr. 16-May 15.

Arizona, Duke, Maryland, Illinois and Kansas lead the Early 2003 Top Classes.

2002 NBA Draft:
The NBA selected only one high school and a single junior college prospect: Center/forward Amare Stoudemire of Orlando-Cypress Creek, Fla., was taken 9th in the first round by Phoenix, while Portland took forward Qyntel Woods of Northeast Mississippi CC, Miss., at No. 21 in the first round. The NBA passed on three other high school/prep school prospects and seven JC players (List).

2003 McDonald's All-American Game
LeBron James scored 27 points in leading the East over the West, 122-107, in the 26th annual McDonald's All-American high school basketball game in Cleveland, Ohio. McDonald's All-American Game stories/Rosters for 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000.
