Class 2003 forward Quinnel Brown of Chicago-Morgan Park, Ill/Wabash CC, Ill., chose Auburn over Creighton and Ball State. The Tigers recently gained Class 2003 guard Ian Young of Orlando-Lake Howell, Fla/Indian River CC, Fla/Des Moines Area CC, Ia., over New Mexico, Virginia Tech, Mississippi and Louisiana Tech.

Zabian Dowdell, a Class 2003 guard from Pahokee, Fla., picked Virginia Tech and new coach Seth Greenberg over South Florida, Jacksonville, Florida Atlantic and East Carolina.

Mississippi pledged Class 2003 forward Marvin Moore of Southern Union CC, Ala.

Virginia sophomore guard Jermaine Harper of Gardena, Cal/Blue Ridge School, Va., is expected to transfer to College of Charleston.

Southern Illinois gained a verbal from Class 2003 forward Lamar Owen of Owensboro, Kty/Southeastern Illinois CC, Ill.

Southwest Missouri State pledged Class 2003 guard Anthony Shavies of Chabot CC, Cal.

Creighton pledged Class 2003 guard Pierce Hibma of Pella, Ia., over interest from Drake, Richmond, Northern Iowa, Furman and Indiana State.

Class 2003 guard Rich Baker of Rockville-Montrose Christian, Md., has chosen Hartford.

J.R. Pinnock, a Class 2003 guard from Virginia Beach-Coastal Christian, Va., has reportedly picked George Washington. He had decommitted from Wichita State.

Detroit gained a verbal from Class 2003 forward Torvoris Baker of Detroit-Cooley, Mich/Eastern Michigan/Schoolcraft CC, Mich.
