Class 2003 forward Donte Minter of Mt. Ulla-West Rowan, NC/Fork Union MA, Va., has chosen Virginia over Marquette, Louisville, South Carolina, Indiana, East Carolina and Mississippi. Minter averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds for Fork Union. The Cavs recently gained Class 2003 guard T.J. Bannister of Jacksonville-Arlington Country Day, Fla.
Class 2003 junior college forward Harvey Thomas of Fredericksburg, Va/Georgetown/Daytona Beach CC, Fla/Northeast Oklahoma A&M, Okla., has pledged to Baylor. Thomas averaged 5.2 points as a freshman for Georgetown.
Miami-Florida has a pledge from Class 2003 forward Anthony King of Durham-Southern Durham, NC.
Class 2004 center Peter Prowitt of McLean-Potomac, Va., has chosen Stanford.
Texas Tech has a pledge from Class 2003 forward Joseph Works of Garden City CC, Kan.
Oral Roberts has Class 2003 forward Larry Owens of Yavapai CC, Ariz.
Class 2003 guard Michael Cook of Wynnewood-Friends Central, Pa/New Hampton Prep, NH., pledged to East Carolina.
Carlos Smith, a Class 2003 guard from Atlanta, Ga/Fitchburg-ND Prep, Mass., has chosen South Alabama.
Class 2003 guard/forward Mamadou Diakhate of Senegel/Manhasset-St. Mary's, NY., picked Eastern Kentucky over George Washington, Manhattan and Monmouth.
George Mason pledged Class 2003 forward Kevin Mickens of Allegany CC, Md.
Radford has a pledge from Class 2003 forward Chris Oliver of Kernersville-Glenn, NC.
The 26th annual McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Boys Game
and the second annual Girls Game will be played in Cleveland, Ohio at the
Gund Arena on March 26 at 4:30 p.m. (EST) and 7 p.m. (EST), respectively.
ESPN will broadcast the boys game live.
