Irish, 'Noles, Tigers receive top pledges

Michael Bush, a Top 150 athlete from Louisville-Male, Kty., has signed with Louisville over Kentucky, Ohio State and Tennessee.

The USC Trojans added Top 150 receiver Whitney Lewis of Ventura-St. Bonaventure, Cal., over Florida State, Arizona State, Miami-Florida and Texas.

Top 150 receiver Andre Caldwell of Tampa-Jefferson, Fla., over Florida State, Miami-Florida, LSU and Southern California; Top 150 defensive lineman/running back Joe Cohen of Melbourne-Palm Bay, Fla., and Top 150 defensive lineman Jarvis Moss of Denton-Ryan, Tex., are headed to the Florida Gators.

Top 150 teammates, defensive lineman Victor Abiamiri and receiver/defensive back Ambrose Wooden, both from Baltimore-Gilman School, Md., are set for Notre Dame. The Irish also added Super Prospect linebacker Mitchell Thomas of Smiths-Smiths Station, Ala.

Top 150 linebacker/running back Ernie Sims of Tallahassee-North Florida Christian, Fla., and Top 150 receiver/defensive back Antonio Cromartie of Tallahassee-Lincoln, Fla., chose Florida State. The Seminoles also added offensive lineman David Overmeyer of Liburn-Parkview, Ga; defensive lineman Clifton Dickson of Miami-Northwestern, Fla., who decommitted from Miami-Floria; and Super Prospect receiver DeCody Fagg of Quincy-Shanks, Fla.

Top 150 quarterback Dennis Dixon of San Leandro, Cal., over Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah and Washington; and Top 150 defensive back Ryan Gilliam of Tallahassee-Lincoln, Fla., who decommitted from Florida State, have signed with the Oregon Ducks .

Top 150 running back Demetris Summers of Lexington, SC., signed with South Carolina over Clemson. The Gamecocks also have offensive lineman Woodly Telfort of Dodge City CC, Kan., who decommitted from Clemson; and defensive lineman Freddie St. Preux of Dodge City CC, Kan., over Texas A&M and Clemson.

California has Top 150 defensive lineman Matt Malele of Carson, Cal., over Penn State, Tennessee, Washington, Notre Dame and Stanford, among many others; and edged Ohio State for Super Prospect receiver Devin Stearns of Gardena-Serra, Cal.

UCLA signed Top 150 defensive lineman Junior Lemau'u of Long Beach-Poly, Cal., who decommitted from California.

Top 150 quarterback Robert Lane of Monroe-Neville, La., decommitted from LSU for Mississippi.

The LSU Tigers have Top 150 quarterback JaMarcus Russell of Mobile-Williamson, Ala; Top 150 linebacker/defensive lineman Kirston Pittman of Reserve-East St. John, La; and Top 150 defensive lineman Carnell Stewart of River Ridge-John Curtis, La.

Tennessee has Top 150 receiver Robert Meachem of Tulsa-Washington, Okla., over Oklahoma, LSU and UCLA; Top 150 defensive lineman Claude (Turk) McBride of Camden-Woodrow Wilson, NJ, over Ohio State; Super Prospect offensive lineman Aaron Sears of Russellville, Ala; Top 150 receiver Bret Smith of Warren, Ark; and defensive lineman Zarnell Fitch of Navarro CC, Tex. The Vols also signed Top 150 offensive lineman Eric Young of Union, SC., who had been committed, but considering other options.

Virginia Tech gained Super Prospect defensive lineman Chris Ellis of Hampton-Bethel, Va., over Virginia.

Top 150 offensive lineman Ofa Mohetau of Euless-Trinity, Tex., picked BYU over Texas and Arizona State.

The Auburn Tigers have Top 150 defensive lineman Stanley McClover of Fort Lauderdale-Dillard, Fla., who decommitted from Ohio State. The Tigers also added defensive lineman Kevin Williams of Sebastian-River, Fla., who decommitted from Miami-Florida.

The Michigan Wolverines have signed Top 150 linebacker/defensive lineman Shawn Crable of Massillon-Washington, Ohio, over Ohio State, plus Top 150 linebacker LaMarr Woodley and Super Prospect running back Jerome Jackson, both from Saginaw, Mich. Woodley also considered Oklahoma, Southern California and Michigan State. Jackson chose Michigan over Purdue.

Top 150 quarterback Sam Keller of San Ramon-Valley, Cal., decommitted from Michigan to Arizona State. The Sun Devils also gained top defensive back Chijioke Onyenegecha of CC of San Francisco, Cal., over Oklahoma.

Top 150 defensive lineman Xavier Lawson-Kennedy of Duncanville, Tex., chose Oklahoma State over Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Miami-Florida signed Top 150 linebacker Jonathan Beason of Hollywood-Chaminade, Fla., over Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee; and Top 150 defensive back Willie Cooper of St. Augustine, Fla., over Florida State and Florida.

The early football signing period for mid-year qualifiers was Dec. 18-Jan 15. The spring period is Feb. 5-Apr. 1. Search the list of Prospects/Commitments/Signings/By Conference.

LSU, Southern California, Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami-Florida and North Carolina State lead the Early Top Classes.

Big 12:
Defensive lineman Mike Montgomery of Navarro CC, Tex; and defensive back Charlie Jefferson of Denton-Ryan, Tex., who decommitted from Houston, have picked Texas A&M.

Colorado added defensive lineman Chadd Evans of Tulsa-Washington, Okla., who decommitted from UCLA.

Georgia has linebacker Dan Graydon of Albany-Dougherty, Ga.

Conf-USA:
Defensive back Quinton Cunigan of Wills Point, Tex., picked TCU after decommitting from Missouri.

Pac-10:
Stanford gained linebacker Landon Johnson of Everman, Tex., who decommitted from Rice.
