Irish, Seminoles score with newest commits

Defensive back LaBrose Hedgemon of Hoover, Ala., has pledged to Notre Dame. He originally committed to North Carolina

Outstanding running back David Richard of St. Louis-Hazelwood East, Mo., has decided to transfer from Michigan State to Missouri. He led the Spartans with 654 yards and five touchdowns last season as a true freshman. The Tigers recently pledged defensive back/receiver Quinton Cunigan of Wills Point, Tex., over TCU.

Huge Super Prospect offensive linemen Aubrey McPhadden of Jacksonville-First Coast, Fla., and Mario Henderson of Lehigh, Fla., picked Florida State. The Seminoles recently added Super Prospect defensive lineman Alex Boston of Bartow, Fla., over Florida, Maryland and UConn, among others.

Arizona State has Super Prospect defensive back Chad Green of Van Nuys-Birmingham, Cal., over Oregon State, Washington, Oregon and LSU. The Sun Devils recently added defensive back/receiver Josh Barrett of Reno, Nev., over Nevada and Rice; and offensive lineman Brandon Rodd of Aiea, Hawaii.

Super Prospect defensive lineman Tranell Morant of Miami-Braddock, Fla., pledged to the Florida Gators over Miami-Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Rutgers. The Gators recently gained Top 150 defensive back Reggie Nelson of Melbourne-Palm Bay, Fla., over Florida State, LSU and Miami-Florida; Top 150 linebacker Earl Everett of Bushnell-South Sumter, Fla., and defensive lineman Julian Riley of St. Petersburg-Lakewood, Fla. Everett also considered Florida State, LSU, Miami-Florida and Nebraska. Riley was being recruited by Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Boston College and Purdue.

The early football signing period for mid-year qualifiers was Dec. 18-Jan 15. The spring period is Feb. 5-Apr. 1. Search the list of Prospects/Commitments/Signings/By Conference.

Southern California, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami-Florida and North Carolina State head the Early Top Classes (Updated daily).

Michigan State pledged defensive back DeAndre Cobb of Antelope Valley CC, Cal; defensive back Delton Ashburn of Newport News, Va/Fork Union MA, Va., who has decommitted from Syracuse. He earlier decommitted from Louisville. The Spartans recently gained receiver Terry Love of Maywood-Proviso East, Ill., who decommitted from Wisconsin; running back Kris Bush of River Ridge-John Curtis, La; receiver Irving Campbell of Lantana-Santaluces, Fla; and defensive back/running back Cole Corey of Tecumseh, Mich.

The Indiana Hoosiers pledged defensive back Cedric Henry of New Orleans-Walker, La.

Big 12:
Colorado added linebacker/defensive lineman Alonzo Barrett of Alabaster-Thompson, Ala; and running back/defensive back Isaiah Crawford of Vista, Cal., over Nevada and Wyoming.

SEC:
Mississippi State added offensive lineman John Davis of Hattiesburg-Oak Grove, Miss., over Memphis.

Receiver/defensive back Mike Walker of Orlando-Edgewater, Fla., decommitted from Mississippi within hours after verballing and picked Central Florida.

MAC:
Central Florida gained receiver/defensive back Mike Walker of Orlando-Edgewater, Fla., who decommitted from Mississippi within hours after verballing. UCF recently pledged defensive back Troy Washington of Orlando-Edgewater, Fla., over Iowa State, Mississippi, Syracuse and South Florida; tight end Harvey Joiner of Austin-Crockett, Tex/Trinity Valley CC, Tex; and offensive lineman Brad Williams of Vidalia, Ga.

WAC:
Tulsa has receiver Jamal McCullar of Terrell, Tex.

Hawaii pledged linebacker Chris Cole of Mission Viejo, Cal. The Warrors recently added offensive lineman Xavier Hoolulu of Kailua, Hawaii.

Mountain West:
Defensive back/running back Chris Warner of Reno-McQueen, Nev., and defensive back/receiver Scott Johnson of Provo-Tempview, Utah, pledged to BYU. The Cougars recently gained linebacker/running back Matt Ah You of Highland-Long Peak, Utah, over Hawaii and Utah.

Utah added running back Mike Liti of Santa Ana-Foothill, Cal., over interest from Boise State, Utah State, Colorado State, Wyoming and Hawaii. The Utes recently added linebacker Reza Williams of San Bernardino Valley CC, Cal; quarterback/athlete Marcus Johnson of Los Angeles-Locke, Cal., over UNLV; and defensive lineman Tony Castaldi of Ventura-St. Bonaventure, Cal.

Pac-10:
Linebacker/quarterback Danny Kalavi of Sacramento-Burbank, Cal., has chosen Oregon State. The Beavers recently gained receiver Brandon Powers of Los Angeles-Franklin, Cal., over Michigan State, San Diego State and San Jose State.
