In a major recruiting blow for Notre Dame, Top 150 running back David Marrero of Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas, Fla., has decommitted from the Irish to Stanford. ND Head Coach Tyrone Willingham, who left the Cardinal for South Bend last year, recently gained commitments from Top 150 offensive lineman John Sullivan of Greenwich, Conn., over Boston College; and defensive lineman/linebacker Dwight Stephenson Jr. of Boca Raton, Fla., who decommitted from Florida.
Top 150 tight end Louis Irizarry of Youngstown-Ursuline, Ohio, has repledged to Ohio State after decommitting from Miami-Florida. The Buckeyes recently gained Super Prospect defensive lineman Sian Cotton of Akron/St. Vincent-St. Mary, Ohio, over Florida, Pittsburgh and Clemson, among many others.
Super Prospect defensive lineman Richard Kittrell of Hamden-Hyde, Conn., has chosen the Iowa Hawkeyes over Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina and UConn. The Hawks recently gained Super Prospect running back Albert Young of Moorestown, NJ., who decommitted from Wisconsin; and Super Prospect quarterback Drew Tate of Baytown-Lee, Tex., who decommitted from Texas A&M.
Chris Patrick, a Super Prospect defensive lineman from Ithaca, Mich., pledged to Nebraska after decommitting from Purdue. He had earlier decommitted from Wisconsin. The Huskers recently added defensive backs Donald Defrand of Fort Lauderdale, Fla/Dodge City CC, Kan., and Titus Brothers of Converse-Judson, Tex., tight end J.B. Phillips of Colleyville-Heritage, Tex., over Kansas State and Oklahoma State; and Super Prospect linebacker Lance Broadus of Woodland Hills-Taft, Cal., over Arizona, Oklahoma, Oregon and San Diego State.
South Carolina has recommitments from Super Prospect receiver Noah Whiteside of Greenville, SC., who also considered Clemson, Maryland and Pittsburgh; and touted defensive lineman Charles Silas of Swainsboro, Ga/Georgia Military Academy, Ga., who decommitted from Arkansas.
The early football signing period for mid-year qualifiers was Dec. 18-Jan 15. The spring period is Feb. 5-Apr. 1. Search the list of Prospects/Commitments/Signings/By Conference. Running back Andre Callender of West Orange-Seton Hall Prep, NJ., and offensive lineman Tom Anevski of Cincinnati-Elder, Ohio, chose Boston College. The Eagles recently gained running back/linebacker Lennox Whitworth of Milton-Catholic Memorial, Mass., over Vanderbilt; offensive lineman Kevin Sheridan of Cleveland-St. Ignatius, Ohio; defensive back James Silva of East Providence, RI., and Dorien Bryant, a Top 150 receiver/defensive back from Swedesboro-Kingsway Regional NJ.

Georgia Tech pledged linebacker Kyle Pupello of Tampa-Plant, Fla., and defensive lineman Joe Anoai of Pensacola-Escambia, Fla. The Yellow Jackets recently gained linebacker/defensive back KaMichael Hall of Houston-Klein Forest, Tex., over North Carolina and Northwestern.

Defensive lineman Charles Silas of Swainsboro, Ga/Georgia Military Academy, Ga., decommitted from Arkansas and repledged to South Carolina. The Razorbacks recently gained defensive lineman Titus Peebles of Swainsboro, Ga/Georgia Military Academy, Ga; defensive back Kevin Woods of Memphis-Fairley, Tenn., and defensive lineman Zarnell Fitch of Oklahoma City-Spencer, Okla/Navarro CC, Tex.
Vanderbilt pledged offensive lineman Chris Williams of Baton Rouge-Catholic, La., over Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, Illinois and Southern Mississippi. The Commodores recently gained receiver George Smith of Hollywood-Hollywood Hills, Fla.
