The Boston College Eagles and LSU Tigers have commitments from outstanding receivers.
Dorien Bryant, a Top 150 receiver/defensive back from Swedesboro-Kingsway Regional NJ., chose Boston College over Michigan State, North Carolina State and Purdue, among over 40 other offers. One of the fastest players in the nation, he has a 10.3 100-meter time and a 4.28 electronic 40-yard dash. The Eagles recently gained defensive lineman Ryan Thompson of Akron-Hoban, Ohio, over Stanford, Maryland, Northwestern and Miami-Ohio; defensive back Brad Mueller of Mars, Pa., and quarterback Paul Peterson of Snow CC, Utah, over interest from California, Indiana, Kansas, Utah and Utah State.
Top 150 receiver Anthony Hill of Jacksonville-First Coast, Fla., pledged to LSU over Tennessee. Others were Florida, Florida State and North Carolina. The Tigers also gained Top 150 junior college linebacker Kenny Hollis of Adamsville-Minor, Ala/East Mississippi CC, Miss., over Auburn, Mississippi and Mississippi State.
Top 150 defensive lineman Kyle Caldwell of Scottsdale-Saguaro, Ariz., is headed to Arizona State over UCLA. Among others were Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Miami-Florida and Washington.
The early football signing period for mid-year qualifiers was Dec. 18-Jan 15. The spring period is Feb. 5-Apr. 1. Search the list of Prospects/Commitments/Signings/By Conference. Running back Micah Andrews of Atlanta-Greater Atlanta Christian, Ga; tight end/defensive lineman Zac Selmon of Norman, Okla;, and defensive back/linebacker/running back DeAngelo Bryant of Aiken-Silver Bluff, SC., picked Wake Forest. Andrews, the son of former Auburn and NFL Atlanta Falcon running back William Andrews, also considered Boston College, Vanderbilt and Virginia. Selmon's father is Dewey Selmon and his uncles are Leroy and Lucious, all of Oklahoma and NFL fame.

Defensive lineman Stanley Doughty of Greensburg-St. Helena Central, La., pledged to South Carolina.
Offensive lineman Robert Felton of Houston-Cy Creek, Tex., and quarterback Landon Leach of Russellville, Ark., chose Arkansas. Leach passed for 3750 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior. He also ran for another eight touchdowns.
Vanderbilt has a verbal from defensive lineman/linebacker Antron Dillon of Independence, LA. Vandy recently gained verbals from linebacker Curtis Gatewood of Memphis-White Station, Tenn., and tight end Nick Brigham of Batesburg-Leesville, SC.

East Carolina has pledges from linebacker Wendell Chavis of Ahoskie-Hertford County, NC., and receiver Jewon Crowell of Winston-Salem/Carver, NC.
Running back Larry Thomas of Jackson-Callaway, Miss., has committed to Southern Mississippi.

Fresno State pledged defensive lineman Jason Shirley of Fontana-Kaiser, Cal., and kicker Clint Stitser of Reno-McQueen, Nev.
Mountain West:
BYU gained kicker/punter Mitch Payne of North Ogden-Weber, Utah, over Air Force, Stanford, Arizona and Washington State.
Pac-10:
Running back J.J. Arrington of Rocky Mount-Northern Nash, NC/College of the Canyons, Cal., and receiver Brian Paysinger of Long Beach-Wilson, Cal., picked Oregon. Arrington also considered California, while Paysinger was being recruited by Washington State, Colorado, California, Fresno State and Arizona State. The Ducks recently gained linebacker Ramond White of Henderson-Green Valley, Nev., and tight end Eddie Whitaker of Reseda, Cal/Los Angeles Valley CC, Cal.
Tight end Scott Selby of Castle Rock, Wash., gave a commitment to Washington State. The Cougars recently gained receiver/defensive back Rudy Burgess of Edwards AFB-Desert, Cal.
