Conley to transfer to Missouri

The first freshman to lead Division-I in scoring, sophomore guard Jason Conley of Chevey Chase-Montrose Christian, Md/Millersburg MA, Kty., has left VMI and will transfer to Missouri. Conley averaged 29.3 points last season.

Sophomore backup guard Will Bynum of Chicago-Crane, Ill., who recently left Arizona, has chosen Georgia Tech over Oklahoma State. His mother had earlier stated Bynum was headed to the Cowboys.

Forward/guard James White of Kensington, Md/Hargrave MA, Va., who left Florida and chose Cincinnati over Missouri, has enrolled and is practicing with the Bearcats. White, a former McDonald's All-American who averaged six points as a freshman for the Gators last season, will be eligible to play for Cincinnati after the completion of fall quarter 2003.

Texas Tech has pledged guard/forward Curtis Marshall of Florissant-McCluer, Mo/New Mexico Military Institute, NM.

George Washington pledged guard Carl Elliott of Brooklyn-Trinity Pawling, NY/Worcester Academy, Mass., who orginally signed with GW in Class 2002.

Iowa State pledged forward Reggie George of Palos Heights-Shepard, Ill/Fitchburg-Notre Dame Prep, Mass., over Boston College, Providence and George Washington.

Over 690 prospects have made commitments or signed scholarship papers. Signings and commitments by conferences. The early period ran Nov. 13-20 and the late period is Apr. 16-May 15.

Arizona, Duke, Maryland, Illinois and Kansas lead the Early 2003 Top Classes.

Remaining uncommitted Top 100 Prospects (5): C-James Lang (decomitted Louisville/possible NBA); C-Darryl Watkins; F-Brandon Bass, Linas Kleiza; G-LeBron James (probable NBA). Remaining committed/unsigned Top 100 Prospects (5): C-Shagari Alleyne (Rutgers); C-Jackie Butler (Mississippi State); C-Lamont Hamilton (St. John's); F-Marquis Kately (California); F-Charlie Villanueva (Illinois/possible NBA).

The NBA passed on three other high school/prep school prospects and seven JC players (List).
