Touted defensive back Ryan Gilliam of
Tallahassee-Lincoln, Fla., has chosen Florida State over Florida and Oregon,
among many others.
Offensive lineman Derek Morris of Huntersville-North
Meckenberg, NC., is set for North Carolina State over
Miami-Florida and Oklahoma. Considered a Top 150 prospect in Class 2002, he
signed with Ohio State, but was released from scholarship.
The early football signing period for mid-year qualifiers is Dec. 18-Jan

Minnesota gained a verbal from
receiver John Scroggins of
Dallas/Wilmer-Hutchins, Tex., over SMU.
Big 12:
Super Prospect quarterback Drew Tate of Baytown, Tex., has decommitted
from Texas A&M following the coaching
change. He is now considering Houston, Baylor and Iowa.
Baylor has pledged linebacker Marcus Foreman of Waco-Midway,
Tex., over TCU, Oklahoma State, New Mexico and SMU.
Big East:
Sophomore quarterback Ryan Cubit of Columbia-Hickman,
Mo., will transfer from Rutgers to Western Michigan. Cubit won the
quarterback position as a freshman, but started only four games during 2002.
ACC:
North Carolina has a commitment from
running back/defensive back Ronnie McGill of Clover, SC., over
Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. The Heels recently gained linebacker Kory Gedin of Washington,
DC-Gonzaga, over Boston College. Others were Georgia Tech, Northwestern and
Vanderbilt.
Wake Forest has pledges from
defensive lineman/linebacker James Martin of Pompano Beach-Ely,
Fla., over North Carolina, North Carolina State and Michigan State; and
defensive back Devin Blake of Jacksonville-First
Coast, Fla., who decommitted from Tulane.
SEC:
Linebacker Darius Ingram of Tenaha, Tex.,
pledged to the LSU Tigers over Arkansas and TCU.
Running back/defensive back Cory Boyd of Orange, NJ., chose South Carolina over Virginia Tech,
Boston College, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Super Prospect defensive lineman Bruce Davis of League City-Clear
Creek, Tex., has decommitted from Texas, UCLA and now Arkansas. He is reconsidering the
Bruins, plus looking at Colorado and LSU.
Conf-USA:
Offensive lineman Beau Tuft of Houston-Westside,
Tex., committed to Houston over New Mexico, UTEP and San
Jose State.
Sun Belt:
Louisiana-Lafayette pledged
linebacker Josh Lancaster of
Colleyville-Heritage, Tex., over New Mexico, Rice and Memphis.
MAC:
Sophomore quarterback Ryan Cubit of Columbia-Hickman,

Running back/receiver Marcus Thomas of Tolleson, Ariz.,
has chosen Arizona over Oregon, Washington State
and UCLA. He rushed for 3573 yards and 46 touchdowns as a senior. The
Wildcats recently gained
Top 150 quarterback Richard Kovalcheck of San
Diego-St. Augustine, Cal., over Tennessee.
