Top 100 forward Charlie Villanueva of Blair Academy, NJ., has committed to Illinois over Villanova, Indiana and Seton Hall, according to sources.
Villanueva and teammate Luol Deng are considered the nation's top two small forwards. Deng is considering Duke, Indiana, Missouri and Virginia. Both plan to officially announce their college choices tomorrow (Nov. 5).
A recent qualifier, Villanueva has also considered the NBA Draft. The Illini recruiting class has four Top 100 prospects, including Villanueva, forward Warren Carter of Dallas-Lake Highlands, Tex., guard Richard McBride of Springfield-Lanphier, Ill., and forward Brian Randle of Peoria-Notre Dame, Ill.
Top 100 forward Cartier Martin of Houston-Nimitz, Tex., is near a decision between Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas and Kentucky. Despite late interest, Top 100 forward Tyrone Nelson of Hempstead, Tex., is firmly committed to the Baylor Bears, according to head coach Bobby Spain. Louisville, Maryland, Kansas and Arizona lead the Early 2003 Top Classes.

Much-discussed forward Julian Sensley of Kailua, Hawaii/St. Thomas More, Conn., has reportedly pledged to San Francisco. Among his travels: Sensley originally signed with California, but did not qualify; enrolled at Iona, but quickly withdrew; verballed to Fresno State, but did not sign; entered the NBA Draft, but withdrew; expected to play this season at Southern Nevada CC, Nev., but enrolled at Los Angeles CC, Cal.
Canisius has pledges from forward Darnell Wilson of Westland-John Glenn, Mich.; and guard Chuck Harris of Detroit-DePorres, Mich.
Penn pledged forwards Ryan Pettinella of Rochester-McQuaid Jesuit, NY; and Steve Danley of Hyattsville-Dematha, Md.
Princeton has a pledge from forward Brian Elbogen of San Ramon-California, Cal.
Southern Illinois has a pledge from forward Jamaal Foster of Columbia-Hickman, Mo., over Western Michigan.
Guard Andre King-Holland of Melbourne-Florida Air Force Academy, Fla., pledged to Arkansas State.
Nevada has a pledge from center/forward Nick Fazekas of Arvada-Ralston Valley, Colo., over Utah and Marquette.
Hofstra pledged guard Loren Stokes of Oakdale-St. Thomas More, Conn.
Maine has guard Chris Bruff of West Hartford-Northwest Catholic, Conn.
Forward Miles Orman of Oradell-Bergen Catholic, NJ., pledged to Marist.
Forward William Harris of Detroit-King, Mich/Macomb CC, Ill., selected Central Michigan. He averaged 11 points, eight rebounds and had 62 blocks last season.
Cornell gained forward Dane Williams of Columbus, Ga.
