McKinzey, Gainous commit to Georgia

Georgia, Alabama and Colorado have added highly-rated football commitments.

Touted offensive lineman Zeb McKinzey of Lilburn-Parkview, Ga., has chosen Georgia over Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Auburn, South Carolina and Vanderbilt, among many others.

The Bulldogs have also gained offensive lineman Tommy Gainous of Cairo, Ga, and running back Danny Ware of Rockmart, Ga.

Alabama has a commitment from defensive lineman Dominic Lee of Birmingham-Huffman, Ala., over LSU, Auburn, Florida and Mississippi.

Promising quarterback Brian White of Mission Viejo-Trabuco Hills, Cal., has chosen Colorado over Arizona. He passed for 1500 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior.

Arizona State has a verbal from Top 150 junior college defensive back Chris McKenzie of Central Islip, NY/Glendale CC, Ariz., over Nebraska, Arizona and Washington.

Auburn pledged tight end Cole Bennett of Dolton, Ga., over Georgia Tech; and receiver Bruce Edwards of Columbus, Miss., over Mississippi, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Southern Mississippi.

South Carolina has a verbal from receiver Travis Lee of Shelby-Crest, SC., over Georgia, North Carolina State and North Carolina.

Florida pledged punter/defensive back Eric Wilbur of Winter Park-Trinity Prep, Fla., over Miami-Florida, Notre Dame and Central Florida.

Offensive lineman Matt Gilbow of Jonesboro, Ark., committed to Arkansas. Among those showing interest were Tennessee and Mississippi State.

Illinois pledged linebacker Jay Leman of Champaign-Central, Ill.

Kansas gained a commitment from offensive/defensive lineman Reid Kirby of Kansas City-Oak Park, Mo.

SMU pledged offensive lineman Kennard Burley of Scurry/Scurry-Rosser, Tex., over Baylor and TCU; and receiver Blake Warren of Arp, Tex., over interest from Arizona, Baylor, Memphis, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and TCU.

Bowling Green gained a commitment from quarterback/athlete Benjy Kennedy of Morris, Ill.
