No. 2 seed: Conference USA
Coach: Denny Crum

Offense: The ball has to go through the big guy, Olajuwon, first, but you have to save enough shots for Aguirre, who is automatic down low. This team will run well, also. They must watch out for a team that slows the tempo and plays zone. The outside shooting is streaky.

Defense: This will be an excellent 2-2-1 full-court pressure team, which was a trademark of Crum's Louisville Cardinals. If you think Pitino and Bob Huggins' teams can press, how about 6-8 Anfernee Hardaway, 6-6 Clyde Drexler, and 6-4 Darrell Griffith scavenging for steals as Olajuwon is poised to erase any mistakes.

Intangibles: Denny Crum has two national titles in his pocket and his mentor, John Wooden, is serving as the team's unofficial adviser.

No. 7 seed: Mountain West
Coach: Jerry Tarkanian

Offense: This team has a good balance of inside scoring, outside shooting, and offensive rebounding. Tark's pushing the pace and it's reminiscent of his mid-'70s teams that averaged over 100 points a game with only eight guys.

Defense: Tark employs a man-to-man full-court pressure, which takes Van Horn and Ainge a little while to adjust to. Cage rebounds everything in sight and Anthony might be the best on-the-ball defender in the tournament.

Intangibles: Rick Majerus agrees to help out but only if training camp is in Las Vegas or San Diego and the per diem is satisfactory.
