One of the first anglers to compete in BASS events, Green fished the 1968 All American Tournament on Sam Rayburn. He qualified for 14 Classics and still holds the all-time record for the heaviest bass ever caught in a Classic, an 8-pound, 9-ounce largemouth from Lake Guntersville in 1976.
