Columbus rookie among six added to team

Associated Press

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Columbus rookie Dan Fritsche and Brady Murray, son of Los Angeles coach Andy Murray, were among the final players chosen Monday for the U.S. team that will play in the World Junior Championship.

Fritsche, a center, has one goal in 19 games this season with the Blue Jackets. He was chosen in the second round of this year's draft.

Murray, a freshman forward at North Dakota, has 15 points in 11 games and ranks 12th in the nation with 1.36 points per game.

Also chosen for the team were forwards Jake Dowell of Wisconsin and David Booth of Michigan State; and defensemen Dylan Reese of Harvard, and Dan Richmond of London in the Ontario Hockey League.

The tournament begins Dec. 26 in Finland.
