SAINT-DENIS, France -- Allen Johnson won his fourth world title in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday, edging U.S. teammate Terrence Trammell in the final at the World Championships. Liu Xiang of China took the bronze. Johnson finished in 13.12 seconds, eight-hundredths of a second faster than Trammell. The man expected to give Johnson his toughest challenge, Stanislavs Olijars of Latvia, injured himself in qualifying and dropped out of the event. He had been the only hurdler to beat Johnson this year. Other winners were Mirela Manjani of Greece in the women's javelin, Jaouad Gharib of Morocco in the men's marathon, Eunice Barber won France in the women's long jump and 18-year-old Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia in the women's 5,000 meters. Without Kelli White, the heavily favored Americans lost to France in the 400 relay final on Saturday night.
