Clay Matvick

Clay Matvick joined ESPN in 2006 and primarily handles play-by-play for ESPNU college football, college basketball, hockey, baseball and softball telecasts.

He also has called the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl and the Emerald Bowl for ESPN Radio, the Men's National Invitation Tournament, NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship, Women's College World Series, College World Series and the Little League World Series across the ESPN networks.

Matvick's duties also include calling regional play for the NCAA Men's Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship and hosting the Hobey Baker Award show.

Before joining ESPN, Matvick was a sports anchor and play-by-play announcer for FSN-North in Minneapolis from 2001-2005, and was a studio anchor for CNNSI in Atlanta from 1999-2001. From 1990-1999, he worked in Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska doing play-by-play and working as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at various stations.

Matvick also does play-by-play for the Minnesota Boys High School Hockey Tournament and has won two regional Emmy Awards.

Matvick graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1996 with a degree in mass communications.
