NHL Rules! takes everyone a step closer

ESPN.com

The NHL Rules! crew is headed to the Pepsi Center for a matchup between the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche. Monday night's broadcast (ESPN2, 8 p.m. ET) will examine coaching and the Xs and Os of playing defense.

Of course, we will provide the same elements from our previous NHL Rules! games, like on-air questions from ESPN.com users.

If this is your first time checking out NHL Rules!, here's a little primer. NHL Rules! is a project combining unique game coverage on ESPN2 and ESPN.com. It's designed to help both avid and casual hockey fans to understand – and love – watching professional hockey, without sacrificing everything the most knowledgeable fan looks for when watching a game on TV.

  • Instead of the usual tandem of a play-by-play commentator and analyst, the broadcast has two analysts – Barry Melrose and Brian Engblom. Steve Levy will be the on-site host for Sunday's broadcast from Denver.

  • Before and during the game, visitors to ESPN.com and NHL.com can post questions that will be answered on-air. They can also chat with players and officials from the participating teams and with our in-studio host.
