Rank Comments: Give us one good reason why

ESPN.com

ESPN.com users sound off on Power Rankings of Dec. 10:

How can you possibly rank the Stars ahead of the Bruins?? Just because they have fewer man games lost to injuries, that is just more proof the Bruins are a better, deeper team. They have more points in fewer games and have better numbers overall. The Bruins just won three games in four days! The Bruins should be ranked No. 1 until a team knocks them off as best team in the NHL!

HUH? Just couldn't stand having the Bruins in first anymore? 'Cause I know you don't have a good reason to move the Stars ahead of them. Right! Right!! Didn't think so ... punk!

Are you blind to what is going on in the NHL. I know by starting that way I will never get printed, but I had to ask. The Boston Bruins just won three games in four days. Not only did they do so in convincing fashion, they lead the NHL in points by three over everyone, and almost 10 over anyone in their division. They have been No. 1 for the last few weeks. Dallas certainly did not do anything to move them from the number one spot. Based on this, you might as well move Ohio State to the number one spot in college football just for good measure. The fact you chose Dallas is an absolute travesty, they deserve the number one spot about as much as Pete Rose never gambled on baseball.

All right, I normally don't pay much credence to the power rankings ... but when there is a TOTAL injustice, such as in this week's rankings, I feel compelled to write in.

The Bruins at No. 2? Are you kidding? They've only won 13 of their last 17 games and 3 of 4 for the week, including back-to-back games over the weekend. What more does the top team have to do to stay up top? All they've been doing is winning!!!

Dan Eberle

Is there any way Minnesota can petition the league to only play on Saturdays? Marion "Gabor-a-trik" cannot seem to score on any other days. Go WILD. (I know that sounds stupid)

Speaking of revisiting the All-Star voting process, why is it that neither one of the best goalie tandem in the NHL -- Manny Fernandez and Dwayne Roloson -- is on the ballot?

Kent Benson

OK, this doesn't have anything to do with the power rankings, but can't someone mention to Dave Lewis that his mustache makes him look like Adolph Hitler. It's really freakin' me out.

Maybe the Colorado Avalanche would be higher up in the rankings if they got back Chris Drury, who has more points than the combined total of the three guys they received in return from Calgary. Or maybe ESPN can sort the rankings by "feet above sea level." That would guarantee top spot for the Avs.

Winter clearance sale in Philly!! Blow-out prices on overpaid, whiny hockey superstars! Will take anything in trade ... Bad back? No problem! Concussions? We wrote the book! Yo, Bobby, why wait for the trade deadline? These guys won't play for anybody!
