Name: Robert W. Goodenow
Birthdate: October 29, 1952

Goodenow was raised in Dearborn, Mich and grew up playing hockey on the outdoor rinks in his hometown. After high school, Goodenow traveled East to play hockey and go to school at Harvard University, where he graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government Studies and Economics.

Goodenow captained the Harvard hockey team, and after college, he played on the 1974 and 1975 U.S. National team. Following his stint with the U.S. team, Goodenow played two seasons with the Flint Generals of the IHL. He scored 25 goals and amassed 65 points in 108 games.

After he hung up the blades, Goodenow attended the University of Detroit Law School and earned his JD in 1979. He began practicing labor law for Unisys that same year and after a stint in Pittsburgh, Goodenow spent the latter half of the '80s practicing labor law in Detroit.
