Brett Hull to present award to his father

Associated Press

EVELETH, Minn. -- Former Chicago Blackhawks left wing Bobby Hull will receive the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame's 2003 Wayne Gretzky International Award.

Brett Hull, a right wing for the Detroit Red Wings, will present his father with the award Aug. 10 as part of the Hall's annual Celebrity Golf Classic fund-raising tournament at Giants Ridge Golf Resort in Biwabik.

The award -- first presented in 1999 -- is given annually to an international citizen who has made a significant contribution to the growth and advancement of American hockey.

The Pointe Anne, Ontario, native was the first player in NHL history to score more than 50 goals in a season. Hull is first on the Blackhawks All-time goals scored list with 604.

Bobby Hull will also serve as the celebrity host of the tournament, which takes place Aug. 11.
