Winger expected to join Ducks at camp

Associated Press

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Hobey Baker Award finalist Chris Kunitz signed a two-year contract with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks on Tuesday.

Terms were not announced.

The 23-year-old Ferris State left wing is expected to join the Mighty Ducks at training camp in September.

Kunitz was the nation's second-leading scorer this season with 35 goals and 44 assists in 42 games. He became the first Ferris State player to be selected as the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's player of the year.

Kunitz had 99 goals and 76 assists in 152 career games at Ferris State, in Big Rapids, Mich. He helped his team reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
