Rangers goaltender Mike Richter's head injury is more severe than previously thought. Richter, who suffered a mild concussion Nov. 5, will have a neurological exam Thursday morning in Montreal, Newsday reported.
The results of the test will not be known until Friday, according to the team. The goaltender will not rejoin the team until after Saturday's game against the Canucks. He will see neurologist Karen Johnston, who has worked with the Rangers since they acquired Eric Lindros. "If this was a serious thing it would warrant going up there to see her," Richter said on Monday to Newsday. "But we're really just being cautious. I feel good." Richter suffered the concussion when he was hit in the head by the knee of the Oilers' Todd Marchant in a 5-2 Rangers' victory.
