RALEIGH, N.C. -- Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Kevin Weekes, who had a seizure during Sunday's first practice of training camp, was feeling fine after more tests Monday.
The results of his electrocardiogram were normal and his MRI exam also was normal Tuesday. Results from Sunday's CT scan and blood work were also normal, the team said in a news release.
Weekes collapsed during the first official practice for veteran players on Sunday. Team doctor Jay Stevens said it appeared that heat and dehydration were factors in the seizure.
Weekes, 27, has no previous history of seizures and had passed his pre-camp physical within the previous 48 hours.
He will accompany the Hurricanes when they leave for Estero, Fla., on Wednesday for a week of training camp and preseason games against Florida and Tampa Bay. |
