Kings trade Mair, draft pick for Rasmussen

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Kings acquired forward Erik Rasmussen from the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday for forward Adam Mair and a fifth-round selection in next year's draft.

Rasmussen, 25, had eight goals and 11 assists in 69 games for the Sabres last season -- his fifth with in Buffalo. He had career-high totals of 12 goals and 19 assists in 82 games in the 2000-2001 season. In 281 career games, he has 33 goals and 46 assists.

"Erik will upgrade our team speed and size, and his physical style of play makes him difficult to play against,'' general manager Dave Taylor said of Rasmussen, a 6-foot-3, 208-pound left wing.

Mair, 23, had one goal and one assist in 18 games for the Kings last season. He also had 10 goals and nine assists in 27 games for Manchester of the AHL.
