Domi's rights dealt, becomes unrestricted free agent

Associated Press

The Maple Leafs traded the rights to enforcer Tie Domi to Nashville for a 2003 eighth-round draft pick Sunday night.

Domi becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and the Predators will receive a compensatory draft pick once he signs with another team.

Domi had nine goals, 10 assists and 157 penalty minutes in 74 games last season with Toronto.

It was the second deal Sunday for the Maple Leafs, who also traded the rights to goalie Curtis Joseph to the Flames.
