Born April 20, 1958, in Moscow ... Played 14 seasons for CSKA Moscow in the Soviet Elite League, majority as team captain ... Won 12 consecutive league championships ... Member of Soviet national team at world championship, 11 times, including 1977, 1978, 1981-83, 1985-87 and 1989-91 ... Member of Soviet national team at Winter Olympics in 1980, 1984 and 1988, capturing two gold and one silver medal ... Originally drafted 201st overall by Montreal Canadiens in 1978 NHL entry draft ... Re-entered draft and selected 150th overall by New Jersey Devils in 1983 ... Joined New Jersey Devils on June 26, 1989 at age 31 ... Played five full seasons with New Jersey (1989-94) ... Traded to Detroit Red Wings on April 3, 1995 ... Retired following the 1997-98 season ... Recorded career NHL regular season totals of 546 games played, 36 goals, 192 assists for 228 points.

MIKE GARTNER
Born Oct. 29, 1959, in Ottawa ... Played underage professional season for Cincinnati Stingers of WHA ... Recorded 52 points and was runner-up to Wayne Gretzky as rookie-of-the-year ... Drafted fourth overall by Washington Capitals in the 1979 entry draft ... Played 9½ seasons for Washington ... Recorded nine consecutive 30-plus goal seasons ... Recorded career-high 50 goals and 102 points in 1984-85 ... Traded to New York Rangers on March 6, 1990 ... Traded to Toronto Maple Leafs on March 21, 1994 ... Recorded 15 consecutive 30-plus goal seasons, a NHL record ... Traded to Phoenix Coyotes on June 22, 1996 ... Retired following the 1997-98 season ... DALE HAWERCHUK
Born April 4, 1963, in Toronto ... Drafted first overall by Winnipeg Jets in the 1981 entry draft ... Won Calder Trophy as NHL's Rookie of the Year, youngest to win award ... Recorded 100-plus points in six of nine seasons, including five consecutive years ... Recorded career regular-season NHL totals of 401 games played, 72 goals, 91 assists for 163 points ... On June 14, 1981, became the Rangers' youngest general manager in history at age 35 ... Hired by the Pittsburgh Penguins as GM on Dec. 5, 1989 ... Led Penguins to two Stanley Cup championships in 1991 and 1992 ... Led Penguins to 11 consecutive playoff berths and five division championships.
