Tickets to Wild's opener gone in two minutes

 Associated Press

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Tickets for the Minnesota Wild's Oct. 11 regular-season home opener against Philadelphia sold out in two minutes, the NHL expansion team said Saturday.

"We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support our fans have shown for the Minnesota Wild," said Steve Griggs, vice president of customer sales and service.

A limited number of tickets are still available for 40 other Wild home games and two preseason home games at the new Xcel Energy Center.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and on the Internet at http://www.wild.com or http://www.ticketmaster.com.

Minnesota has been without an NHL team since the Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas after the 1992-93 season.
