The Red Wings announced Thursday that star center Steve Yzerman is
expected to be sidelined for a week due to a mild knee sprain
suffered in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Detroit also announced left wings Slava Kozlov and Tomas
Holmstrom have been listed as day-to-day with injuries. Kozlov
suffered a mild concussion and Holmstrom incurred facial
lacerations in Wednesday's game.
The Red Wings (47-22-9) have won four straight to pull within
one point of first-place St. Louis in the Central Division,
although the Blues have two games in hand. Detroit plays at St.
Louis on Saturday.
In his 17th year with the Red Wings, Yzerman leads the team with
79 points and ranks second in goals with 35 and is a plus-28.
A nine-time All-Star, Yzerman, 34, is sixth all-time with 1,562
points and is one of only 12 players with more than 600 goals
627).
Kozlov, 27, has 18 goals and 18 assists with a plus-12 rating in
71 games this season.
Holmstrom, 27, has 13 goals and 22 assists and is a plus-5, also
in 71 contests.
