BOSTON -- Goaltender Byron Dafoe will not play Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers because of a right knee injury suffered in a goal-mouth pileup with Vancouver's Donald Brashear on Monday night, a Bruins spokeswoman said.
The injury to Dafoe was part of a string of incidents that led to Marty McSorely's stick-swinging retaliatory move, which left Brashear unconscious.
McSorely is suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of Wednesday's hearing in New York.
Dafoe returned to Boston on Tuesday and was to be examined by doctors Wednesday. Results were not yet available, the Bruins spokeswoman said. |
