BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Boston Bruins center Jason Allison, expected to be sidelined at least two weeks with an arm injury, returned Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabres after missing only two games.
Allison was tied for the team lead in scoring before sitting out home victories over New Jersey and Atlanta. He has slipped into a tie for second with 12 points, all assists. Allison, 24, had been nursing an ailing right wrist since late last season but injured his left forearm in practice last month. Last season, he led the Bruins and was 14th in the league in scoring with 23 goals and 53 assists in 82 games. "It felt good," Allison said of his wrist. "I got achy but not where the tear is -- no swelling in that area. I didn't take any (faceoffs) and I'm not going to for awhile." Boston had been the league's hottest team but Wednesday night's 6-2 loss ended streaks of six consecutive wins and seven games without a defeat. After starting the season with a nine-game winless streak, the Bruins are tied for third in the Northeast Division, six points behind Toronto and eight behind Ottawa. | ALSO SEE Axelsson's OT goal caps Bruins comeback over Leafs
